API Keys
API keys are used to authenticate your API requests. Each key is scoped to your organization.
Creating a key
- Go to API Keys in your dashboard
- Click Create API Key
- Enter a name for the key
- Optionally set an expiration date
- Click Create
Your API key is displayed only once. Copy it immediately and store it in a secure location like a password manager or environment variable.
Key security
- Keys are hashed with SHA-256 before storage — Edge never stores the raw key
- The key prefix (first 8 characters) is stored for identification
- Keys can be revoked at any time — revoked keys stop working immediately
- Set expiration dates for time-limited access
Revoking a key
- Go to API Keys
- Find the key you want to revoke
- Click Revoke
Revoked keys cannot be un-revoked. Create a new key if needed.
